Candidate lets fingers do the talking; leader lets him do the walking

Stephan Dion believes that he's the man to replace Steven Harper. On what basis does he believe that he's qualified to do this? Well he has voted in support of Harper's government at least 47 times! Why his voting record is as bad as Harper's speech writing! If that's any indication, he's so qualified that if he actually did replace Harper, we might not even notice the difference.

That's where Jack Layton comes in. He claims that he is the real alternative for change. In fact he's beginning to talk as if he's actually got a shot at forming a government. That's raises the big question: "So has Layton got delusions of grandeur, or has he hit his head on something?"

Besides Layton's got some problems of his own. An Ontario NDP candidate recently had to get the sack for behaviour unbecoming a socialist. Like so many recent tales of scandal, this one also involves the Internet, an the social networking site called Facebook. Seems while one Mr Andrew McKeevers - not yet a candidate for public office, was busy networking, he ran afoul of some fellow cyber surfers. In particular,he got into a heated debate with one fellow, whom he then threatened to beat the crap out of (actually he threatened to 'kick the shit' out of the guy, but I had to clean it up for the Internet). Now that's what Canadian politics is lacking - hockey style passion! He also directed a stream of obscenities at another woman whom he had an ideological disagreement with. Canadian politics may be able to handle passion, but it will not tolerate that sort of political incorrectness. So Mr McKeevers was given leave, and now has much more free time in which to get into trouble. Perhaps he should give the keyboard a rest, and try out a gym?

Incidentally McKeevers has said some other outlandish things on facebook, such as his fondness for the brutality scenes in Schindler's List, and even described his political affiliations as "Baathist" (Saddam Husein's party in Iraq). Now McKeevers sounds more like some one who should be on a mental health watch list, the kind for 'ticking time bombs', then on a ballot. Layton's finally gotten rid of him too, but it took a while.

Incidentally this story was broken on the Liberal Party's site. Remember what I said about the Nerd Patrol??
