Novak Had Pedestrian 'Splayed Into the Windshield'

It took bicyclist David Bono only a half block to catch up with the black Corvette he had just seen plow into a 66-year-old pedestrian.

When he caught up with the sports car, Bono had no idea who he'd helped to stop.

That's when potlical columnist and cable news correspondent Robert Novak stuck his head out the window and told him to get out of the way. Bono told a Politico reporter that's when he informed Novak you can't just hit a pedestrian and drive away.

"A black Corvette convertible with top closed plows into the guy," Bono said of what he witnessed. "The guy is sort of splayed into the windshield.”

Politico reports that the unnamed 66-year-old was treated at George Washington University Hospital for minor injuries and released.

"I didn’t know I hit him. ... I feel terrible,” Novak said. "He's not dead, that's the main thing."

Novak was cited by police for failing to yield the right of way and was released.
