Sadly, today’s generation neglects the importance of using the library as the prime venue where they can find limitless resources for their term paper. With the emergence of technology and practical living, students sought after the convenience that the internet provides.Researching does not end when writing the term paper begins. As a student goes along with writing, he or she will have the tendency to find more research information if the previously researched data are insufficient to support a claim. This happens when the student fails to maximize all of his or her means in finding the most suitable sources. Take note that the web pages from the internet are constantly changing. That is why in indicating internet resources for term papers, it is mandatory to include the date when the student retrieved the information from a website.
Before considering internet researching, a student must first plan his or her trip to the library. With thousands of guaranteed original and screened manuscripts and published works, the student will never experience scarcity of resources for his or her term paper. After choosing a topic, the student must consider the following steps for an economical research trip going to the library:
1. Check own workbook used in class because these books indicate references used in a particular topic. This will guide the student in gathering pieces of information related to one another.
2. List all the references found in the workbook for easier search. Nowadays, most libraries have a web-based tool to locate available books in the library. If the school library has its own online search tool accessible outside the school vicinity, the student can easily view the tool and find researches for the term papers at home. 3. Allot one to two whole days dedicated in term paper research, depending on how much information the paper must include.
4. Expand one’s horizon by looking at other resources aside from books. Related journals can be very helpful for the reason that the author of the journal has already enlisted all the books used in creating term papers.
5. A student may not find all potential references the school library. If permissible, try looking at state libraries – there may be some rare books found outside the school premises.
