(Getty Images | TWC)Be still our beating hearts! The marriage of Hollywood's premier It Girl and one of cinema's most exciting directors may be happening sooner rather than later. Collider is reporting actress Jennifer Lawrence is currently in talks for an unspecified role in Quentin Tarantino's next film, The Hateful Eight, which is set for a late 2015 release date.

Collider isn't reporting much other than that, however, and Lawrence's publicist has already issued a denial:

But publicists cannot always be trusted so the rumor will persist until an official statement comes along. For now, we can dream of Lawrence in Tarantino's new western, eyes closed by the sun, rattling off the writer/director's signature dialogue in her own ferocious way.

The 24-year-old actress has already shown a veteran's savvy in attaching herself to talented director David O. Russell (Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle, the upcoming Joy) which has netted her two Oscar nominations and one win. So her interest in Tarantino's new movie is no real surprise. Her involvement will likely depend on the role he wants her for and how long the shooting schedule will be. As Collider points out, Tarantino has lured big stars in the past for tiny roles so it's not out of the realm of possibility that Lawrence could appear in a truncated part. But hopes are she's one of the Eight.

Yesterday, Collider released a description of the teaser trailer that will air before Sin City: A Dame to Kill For when it opens this weekend. It's footage free, but contains title cards that describe strangers being stranded in a blizzard, but "They soon discovered they shared a deadly connection." The teaser then lists the Hateful Eight.

Major Marquis Warren: “The Bounty Hunter”
John Ruth: “The Hangman”
Daisy Domergue: “The Prisoner”
Chris Mannix: “The Sheriff”
Bob: “The Mexican”
Oswald Mobray: “The Little Man”
Joe Gage: “The Cow Puncher”
General Sandy Smithers: “The Confederate”

So there is one female member of the group: Daisy. Might the role be earmarked for Lawrence? We'll have to wait to see.
